The Kemer Pamukkale Balloon tour takes you on a sunrise hot air flight over the white travertine terraces and Hierapolis ruins, with hotel transfers included. Watch the sunrise illuminate the white travertine terraces from above, float over the ancient ruins of Hierapolis and return to your Kemer hotel with memories that will last a lifetime — all with transfers included.
Pamukkale is one of the world’s great natural wonders — and seeing it from a hot air balloon at sunrise is the kind of experience you cannot find anywhere else. Starting from Kemer with a scenic 3-hour drive through the Aegean countryside, this full-day tour takes you to the heart of one of Turkey’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Float for approximately one hour over the Cotton Castle’s iconic white terraces and the sprawling ruins of Hierapolis, landing to a champagne toast and a morning of exploring the ancient city. This is the highlight of any Turkish Riviera holiday.
• Approx. 1-hour hot air balloon flight over Pamukkale and Hierapolis
• Sunrise views of the white travertine terraces from altitude
• Champagne toast and flight certificate on landing
• Visit to Hierapolis ancient city ruins
• Walk on the iconic white travertine terraces
• Certified experienced pilot — full safety compliance
• Hotel pickup and return transfer from Kemer included
Your day starts before dawn — hotel pickup in Kemer is typically around 04:30–05:00. The drive to Pamukkale takes approximately 3 hours, a slightly shorter journey than from Antalya, passing through the inland hills and cotton fields of the Aegean region as the landscape shifts from coast to countryside.
Arriving at the launch site, the Pamukkale plateau is already glowing faintly in the pre-dawn light. Ground crew are inflating the balloon as you arrive. After a safety briefing, passengers board the basket with the certified pilot. The burners fire, the balloon rises, and the sounds of the ground fade away.
The one-hour flight takes you over one of the most photographed landscapes in Turkey. The travertine terraces — bleached white by centuries of calcium-rich thermal water — catch the early morning light in a way that changes with every minute. Looking down, you can trace the ancient streets of Hierapolis: the colonnaded avenue, the theatre carved into the hillside, the vast necropolis that spreads beyond the city walls. The perspective from above reveals the full scale of what was once one of the most prosperous cities of the ancient world.
After landing, raise a glass — champagne is served to celebrate the flight. Your pilot hands over your flight certificate. Breakfast follows before the guided section of the day begins.
You will visit the Hierapolis archaeological site — walking the marble-paved streets, visiting the theatre and, for those who want the full experience, swimming in the Antique Pool, where columns from the Roman period lie submerged in the warm mineral water (separate entry applies). Finally, a walk across the famous Pamukkale terraces — the bright white pools of calcium where photographs barely do justice to the real thing.
The return transfer to Kemer takes approximately 3 hours, arriving in the evening. A long day that earns every minute.
