What to Expect on the Antalya Olympos Cable Car

Your adventure starts with a hotel pickup in Antalya and a comfortable drive to the Olympos Cable Car base station. The route takes approximately 30 minutes, passing through the Beydağları Coastal National Park — a protected wilderness area of limestone mountains and fragrant cedar and pine forest. As the landscape becomes wilder and the road climbs, the sea begins to appear behind you.

At the base station, board the modern cable car gondola and begin the 10–12 minute ascent to the summit of Tahtalı Mountain. The cabin rises smoothly and swiftly, and the view through the panoramic windows expands with every metre gained. Forests fall away below. The Mediterranean appears in full. The mountains stretch inland to the north. By the time the gondola arrives at the summit terminal, you are looking at a view that encompasses the entire coastal region of southern Turkey.

At 2,365 metres, the air is noticeably different — cooler, cleaner and noticeably less humid than the coast below. Spend your free time (approximately one hour) walking the viewing terraces, finding the best angle for photographs or simply sitting and letting the scale of it sink in.
