Ride the Olympos Cable Car from Kemer to the summit of Tahtalı Mountain at 2,365 metres. In just 10–12 minutes, rise from the turquoise sea to the peaks of the Taurus Mountains — one of the most extraordinary views in all of Turkey, right on your doorstep.
Kemer sits directly in the shadow of Tahtalı Mountain, and the Olympos Cable Car base station is just 15–20 minutes from the town centre. This proximity makes the Kemer departure ideal — less time in the bus, more time at the top. The cable car itself is a modern gondola that rises smoothly through 2,000+ metres of altitude change in under 15 minutes, delivering you to a summit terrace with 360-degree views of the Mediterranean, the Taurus range and the coastline stretching east and west. Suitable for all ages — a half-day adventure that requires no special preparation.
• Cable car ascent to 2,365m on Tahtalı Mountain — 10–12 minutes from base
• Panoramic 360-degree views of Kemer Bay, the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains
• Very short transfer from Kemer — just 15–20 minutes to the base station
• Free time at the summit — viewing terraces, café and souvenir shops
• Scenic drive through Beydağları National Park
• Hotel pickup and return transfer from Kemer included
Your day starts with a hotel pickup in Kemer, Beldibi or Tekirova, followed by a short 15–20 minute drive to the Olympos Cable Car base station. The route passes through the lower slopes of Beydağları Coastal National Park, where pine forests and limestone cliffs rise on all sides. The mountain is already visible from the road, its summit often capped with cloud in the early morning.
At the base station, board the modern gondola for the ascent. The 10–12 minute cable car ride is an experience in itself. The cabin climbs almost vertically, passing over cliffs and forest canopy as the coast below rapidly shrinks. Kemer Bay comes into view, then the wider Mediterranean, then — as the summit approaches — the full panoramic sweep of southern Turkey’s coastline.
At the summit terminal (2,365m), the gondola doors open onto a completely different world. The temperature is noticeably cooler. The air smells of high altitude and stone. The viewing terraces look out in every direction — south to the sea, west along the Taurus range, east towards the Lycian coast. On a clear day, the islands of the eastern Mediterranean are visible on the horizon.
Spend approximately one hour at the top. Walk the terraces, find your ideal photograph, visit the small café for a hot drink or cold water, or simply stand and look. Time at altitude has a way of resetting the mind. The descent by cable car returns you to the base station, and the short drive back to Kemer completes the half-day.
